Summary
Hand made marionette depicting a pair of silver fish. They were manufactured and operated in Melbourne by Alex and Murray Smith, who performed as part of Le Forgeron Marionettes from 1930 until 1956.
Physical Description
Marionettes depicting a pair of silver fis, which are two different sizes, with the small one being nearly half the size of the larger one. Each have been constructed out of two pieces of wood which have been nailed together with a piece of rubber sandwiched in the middle, forming the fins. The body has been painted silver with black detailing. Each fish has five fins plus a tail fin which are terracotta coloured rubber with black and silver detailing. The fins are more heavily painted on one side. The fish are attached together with a twisted piece of wire which has been connected to a nail in each torso. They both hang from a piece of wood.
