Description of Content
Photograph of Reg (left) and John Duigan at Spring Plains station near Mia Mia in central Victoria with the first Australian-built powered aircraft. This view shows the first version of the machine in mid-1910 with twin mid-wing 'balancing planes' (ailerons) and marked wing dihedral. There is also a large fixed foreplane in front of the wing. The aeroplane is positioned on a creek flat below the homestead. On the opposite side of Pohlman's Creek, to the left of this image, John and Reg Duigan conducted their flying trials in 1910-1911.
