One of 35 black and white Lantern Slides depicting images of places and people taken in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district in Bavaria, Germany, circa 1920s. This Lantern Slide depicts a group of people watching a four man bobsleigh team sliding down a track.
It probably depicts a race at the Lake Riessersee bobsled track which was constructed in 1910 and renovated in 1933. It was considered a dangerous track and hosted various Bavarian, German, European and Word Championships as well as the bobsleigh competitions of the 1936 Winter Olympics. It is now a World Heritage Listed Site.
