Zugspitze is the highest peak of the Wetterstein Mountains, and the highest mountain in Germany (2,962 metres above sea level). It lies south of the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and sits of the boarder of Germany and Austria. There is skiing on both the German and Austrian sides of the mountain, and it is Germany's highest ski resort.
