Other Details: The fiftieth anniversary of the ascension of Queen Victoria was celebrated with enthusiasm throughout the Empire. This medal was one of many issued by local organisations to commemorate the occasion. 1000 of these medals were struck by the Ballaarat (sic) Savings Bank.

Head of Queen Victoria veiled left; around, TO COMMEMORATE QUE[E]N VICTORIA'S JUBILEE . 1887 .
Reverse Description
At centre within scrolls, SAVINGS / BANK / BALLAARAT around, A SHILLING IN THE BANK IS WORTH TWO SPENT in tiny letters above bottom flower, C. WELCH (the H is substantially smaller than the other letters and looks like II)
