Significance
This copper one Penny Pattern token, was minted by Allen & Moore of Birmingham in 1879. Known as 'The New Zealand Pattern Penny', it was an unofficial issue, and was probably was not a currency token. Lampard estimates that only 100 to 200 of these tokens were minted.
