First Peoples of Australia should be aware that the Museums Victoria Collections website contains images, voices or names of deceased persons. For some First Peoples communities, seeing images or hearing recordings of persons who have passed, may cause sadness or distress and, in some cases, offense.
Language
Certain records contain language or include depictions that are insensitive, disrespectful, offensive or racist. This material reflects the creator’s attitude or that of the period in which the item was written, recorded, collected or catalogued.

The level of documentation for collection items can and does vary, dependent on when or how the item was collected. Sue BeazleyPosted on 02 Aug 2010 at 03:50 PM GMT+10:00This is John Hickey and his son William (Bill) Hickey. John born Tipperary Ireland c1853 died Wangaratta October 1935. John immigrated 16 May 1870 and settled in Albury with other family members before moving to Wangaratta around turn of century. William Hickey born 1880 Allan's Flat died Wangaratta 1969. Bill Hickey played for South Melbourne 1902 to 1905 and then made a comeback for Carlton in 1907 managing only one game.
