Late Soho striking with characteristic die crack within the E of GEORGIUS. The silver plating is clear from examination of the edge of the coin.
Obverse Description
Laureate bust of George III facing right hair falling in long curls below shoulder; on bust truncation, D. F. (abbreviation of Droz, he made it); around, GEORGIUS III . D. G. REX. (4 diamond stops)
Reverse Description
Britannia, draped, seated facing left on globe, holding long spear in her right hand, her right elbow rests on an oval shield bearing the crosses of St. George and St. Andrew, in her left hand, a laurel wreath; around BRITANNIA . 1788. Small D (Droz) below shield; in exergue, rudder and palm branch crossed.
