Summary
On the 16 March 1933 a fire in the town of Mananatang destroyed three shops. This image shows the remains of one of the shops, Raphael's Store. It was reported in the Sydney Morning Herald the following day that due to the "an bsence of any fire fighting equipment, and the poor water supply, handicapped fire-fighters". It was estimated that the fire caused between £8000 - £10000 damage. The cause of the fire was not determined.
