Description of Content
Robert Boyle and family posing with a farm wagon, on the family's property at Lake Goldsmith. Robert Boyle was the first person to select land at Lake Goldsmith under the Duffy Land Act in 1862. Robert Boyle is seated on a log in the foreground resting an axle against his knee. His wife, Julia, is standing beside the wagon wearing a dress and white apron, and Robert's adult son Samuel is seated on the side of the wagon with his feet resting on the front wheel. A small boy (possibly a farm hand or neighbour's son) is standing in front of the wagon with two dogs. All four are wearing hats. There are three young eucalypt trees behind the wagon and in the background the remnants of a tip dray and a buggy, plus two farm sheds.
