Description of Content
Pack horses stand outside Svenson's Hotel located on a steep sloping hill. The hotel is a single story weatherboard building with a corrugated tin roof and verandah. There are six plain wooden posts supporting the verandah that is decorated with iron lacework. The front of the elevated verandah is boxed with plain palings. The building has four windows and a central door that is reached from the uneven dirt and rocky street via several wooden steps. Three men stand or sit on the verandah and the five horses laden with boxes and packs are tied up in front of the hotel. There is a stone or brick chimney attached to the left of the building and a smaller single story building is close by connected by an extended tin roof eave. A man and his horse stand out front. There is a wooden telegraph pole in front of this building.
