Summary
Black and white image of a teacher and pupils outside a State School in Victoria, circa 1910.
Description of Content
Boys and girls and a female teacher in front of a weatherboard school building. The teacher and some children are standing at the back, while other children are sitting and lying down in front on the grassy slope. Several girls or womens hats are lying on the ground near the children. The building has a small vestibule at front with a door at right and windows in front, and fretwork in the roof gable. The main part of the school has three windows at right, and one at front, and two chimneys on the roof. There is a pole in the ground at the front of the building. Another building is visible at the back of the school, which appears unfinished, but may be a toilet block. It has a pole emerging from the roof.

It has been suggested that this image shows the Drysdale State School on the Bellarine Peninsula, but this seems to be incorrect as according to the Bellarine Historical Society the Drysdale school was apparently a 3 room brick building constructed in 1875. It may possibly be the Moolap State School, but this seems unlikely. -
