Studio portrait of The Footscray Football Team, Victorian Football Association (VFA) premiers in 1919. The group also includes club officials and three men in uniform who may be from St. John 's Ambulance.
Footscray joined the senior division of the VFA in 1886. They won nine premierships between 1898 and 1924, including a hat-trick from 1898 to 1900 and four premierships between 1919 and 1924. In 1925 Footscray joined the VFL along with HAwthorn and North Melbourne.
