Significance
The obverse of the coins states George III is King of Britainains while the reverse notes he is Duke of Brunswick and Luneburg and archi-thesaurus and Elector of the holy Roman Empire. George was elevated to monarch of the independent kingdom of Hannover at the Congress of Vienna in 1814, shortly after this coin was issued.
