Copy negative of a couple dancing after three days of heavy rain broke an extended drought in the early 1930s. Francis (Frank) James Smith and Bridget Smith owned a mixed farm called Mt Fraser, near Beveridge, Victoria. The photograph was taken by a photographer from The Sun newspaper, Melbourne.
The couple had previously farmed in Tower Hill, Victoria and moved to Beveridge in 1913. They had eight children; five boys and three girls.
