Significance
The coins of the 1809 issue are poorly struck as this issue preceeded the Royal Mint upgrade by Boulton and Watt to steam power. The alloy is .816 fine silver with the balance of iron and zinc. 32,250 1 guilder coins were struck, they were withdrawn and melted in 1839 and the guilder coinage demonetized in 1900.
