Description of Content

Unit No.15 from H.V. McKay Massey Harris Pty Ltd's transport fleet parked outside the company's head office in Devonshire Road, Sunshine, ready with deliveries to agents, January 1940. The 'Albion' (CX1? model) 2-axle prime mover is hitched to a semi-trailer and separate four-wheeled trailer, loaded with oil-bath 'Sunshine' hay mowers and seed drills. Note the petrol bowser located on the footpath in the background behind the trailer. Coincidently, the Glasgow-based Albion Motor Car Co. used the motif of a rising sun with raditating sunrays on the radiator of their 'Albion' motor trucks during the 1920s & 1930s, similar in design to the raditating Sunshine logo that had been a distinctive feature of H.V. McKay's 'Sunshine' harvesters, from around 1906.
