Description of Content
The Massey-Harris No. 3 Reaper-Thresher was actually a re-badged Sunshine Header Harvester manufactured at the Sunshine Harvester Works, Victoria, for distribution through H.V. McKay Massey Harris (Massey-Harris Section) agents following the merger of Massey-Harris's Australian distribution business with that of H.V. McKay in 1930. It had a Canadians-style reel fitted in front of the rear spiral, while the Sunshine machine had front and rear spirals to gather the cut crop. This was a ground-drive machine, but the grips have not yet been fitted to the main drive wheel when this photo was taken. Note the bag bows on the grain box.
