Summary
Gardner at work in a bed of poppies in Carlton Gardens during the Melbourne Olympics in 1956. The Exhibition Building was one of the official venues for the Games, including for Basketball (final), Modern pentathlon (fencing), Weightlifting and Wrestling.
One of a set of 147 35mm Kodachrome slides donated to the Museum in 1987. The images are all taken during the Olympic Games held in Melbourne in November and December, 1956.
