Summary
The Indian male Football (Soccer) team leaving the ground after playing a match during the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. The team did not have to play in the opening round, after Hungary withdrew, and then went on to defeat Australia in the quarter finals, four goals to two. They then played Yugoslavia in the semi finals, but were defeated four goals to one.
One of a set of 147 35mm Kodachrome slides donated to the Museum in 1987. The images are all taken during the Olympic Games held in Melbourne in November and December, 1956.
