The group includes Norma Croker, Betty Cuthbert, Fleur Mellor and Shirley Strickland de la Hunty. A man is nearby filming the group with a small hand-held camera.

One of a set of 147 35mm Kodachrome transparency slides donated to the Museum in 1987. The images are all taken during the Olympic Games held in Melbourne in November and December, 1956.
