Image of a snagging operation on the Murray River, taken by A.J. Campbell in the 1894. This process of river management removed woody habitat from the river for ease of navigation. Winching logs into piles on the riverbank. The logs were snags within the river. A paddle steanmer, the "S.S.Wardell", is providing power for the winches.
