Description of Content
Group of about 30 bricklayers and other construction workers posing at the construction site of a railway bridge in Bairnsdale. At rear a timber scaffold is in use for the construction of a brick retaining wall, forming part of the wingwalls of a metal girder railway bridge. In the foreground are several wooden wheelbarrows and a single tipping hopper truck on a steel-railed construction tramway. In the background an engineer or foreman is leaning against the end of a large riveted metal girder resting on a ballast capstone on top of the brick abutment.
