A Victorian Railways decorative arch installed for the Ballarat centenary celebrations. The arch bears the words 'Welcome to Ballarat'. Two drums at its base bear the years 1838 and 1938. A railway level crossing with gates is visible through the arch. A person is climbing on the telegraph pole to the left of the arch.
