Description of Content
Loading grain onto the SS 'Astralford'. This was the first ship to be loaded at the new pier at Portland. Bags of grain are being moved from a goods truck onto the ship using cranes. Several railway lines run along the pier. A horse is standing beside the goods truck, and appears to be involved in the transfer of freight.
