This seems too heavy for a halfpenny but the diameter is too small for a penny.

None found. Some of these are believed to have circulated in Australia but no evidence for this has been found. The two examples in MV collection have very different weights - 17.563 for this and 12.257 for NU 27486 so too the related Joseph Lane pieces: 12.477 for NU11686 and 10.053 for NU4600. This is uncharacteristic of token weight standards. - John Sharples
