Summary

Photographic colour slide of the operators' room with a radio operator at the Melbourne Coastal Radio Station, Cape Schanck, Victoria. The radio operator is wearing a remote transceiver headset, which allowed an operator to hear any emergency radio calls being received while he was away from the operator's console. On the wall is a wooden housing containing pull-down chart rolls.

This image is one of a series taken at the Melbourne Radio Station at Cape Schanck, just prior to its closure on 30 June 2002. The image was taken by a Museum Victoria photographer.
