Summary
Issue number five of the 'Bush Telegraph' Newsletter issued for the Australian Bicentennial Exhibition in 1988. The Australian Bicentennial Authority was established in 1980. In consultation with the State and Northern Territory governments, the authority planned, recommended and arranged celebrations in 1988 for the 200th anniversary of European settlement in Australia.
The result was a national programme of events and celebrations to commemorate the Bicentenary, which included: World Expo 88 in Brisbane, the arrival of the First Fleet Re-enactment Voyage in Sydney Harbour, the Australian Bicentennial Exhibition which toured throughout Australia, a television special titled 'Australia Live', and all Australian school children were presented with a Bicentennial "Heritage Medallion".

Single page paper Newsletter (newspaper format) that when folded comprises four printed faces of news sheet. The pages have both printed text and photographic images. The text appears in black print with an abstract red and yellow decorative background. Topics of interest include; 'Young Endeavour Crew Visit the Exhibition Headquarters', 'Teen Idols' and 'The Exhibition and The Australian Studies Schools Program' amongst many others.
