Hand made marionette depicting a man, which is missing its legs. It was manufactured and operated in Melbourne by Alex and Murray Smith, who performed as part of Le Forgeron Marionettes from 1930 until 1956.
Physical Description
Marionette depicting a man, which is missing its legs. On his torso he wears a checked green and white shirt, with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. His forearms and hands have been painted roughly. The man has a ruddy complexion and well defined features. His facial paintwork is very cracked and quite chipped. He retains most of his hair. Strings are still attached to both his arms, despite the lack of a mechanism.
