Physical Description

Marionette depicting a blue bird, which is constructed from wood. It is painted a bright purplish- blue, with a white front, and yellow beak and legs. His wings, which have white painted detailing, have been attached to his body with pieces of leather. This forms a sort of hinge which enables the wings to flap. His feet are made from terracotta coloured leather, which have been nailed to his legs. The feet have been slightly bent out of shape during storage. He has a real feather as his tail which is black, white and brown naturally and has been painted to match the body, yet most of the paint has faded. His eyes have been painted on. A large brown leaf has been nailed to his beak. The blue bird hangs from a piece of wood.
