Hand made marionette depicting an small Arabian man. It was manufactured and operated in Melbourne by Alex and Murray Smith, who performed as part of Le Forgeron Marionettes from 1930 until 1956.

Physical Description

Small marionette depicting an Arabian man, which has a plastic head. He wears a pink shirt and green vest with gold sequin trim and yellow pants. His shoes have been painted on in a bright blue and he has two layers of felt soles. The outfit is a little discoloured, but in good condition overall. The plastic head is in quite good condition, although the paintwork is fading and there is some peeling near the hairline where his brown hair is becoming detached. He does retain most of his hair. On his head he wears a green felt hat with plastic gold decoration on the front. This marionette is not attached to a mechanism.
