Summary

Hand made marionette depicting a large green frog. It was manufactured and operated in Melbourne by Alex and Murray Smith, who performed as part of Le Forgeron Marionettes from 1930 until 1956.

Physical Description

Marionette depicting a large frog, which has been sewn in a soft, green fabric, which has blotches of black paint on it. He is padded and shaped with wire. His hands and feet have been formed with wire and covered in a shiny yellow fabric and detailed in black paint. He has a large pink fabric mouth and cardboard eyes, which have been glued on to his head. He is a little dirty. The frog is attached to a two piece mechanism. There are operating strings attached to numerous parts of him, including his limbs and head. The feet have been weighted
