Other Details: This gold-plated medal was issued by the Shire of Shepparton to commemorate the sesquicentenary of Victoria in 1984-5. Shepparton is located north of Melbourne. Europeans first settled the area in the 1830s - 40s, with the town of Shepparton developing in the 1850s. Shepparton became a shire in 1884, a borough in 1927 and a city in 1949. In 1994 it became part of the newly formed Greater Shepparton City Council.

Physical Description

A gold plated medal issued by the Shire of Shepparton to commemorate the sesquicentenary of Victoria in 1984-5. It features a ploughing scene set infront of a wheat sheaf with the motto CLARUM REDDIR INDUSTRIA and the sesquicentenary logo.

Obverse Description
