Other Details: A gold-plated medal issued by the Shire of Leigh to commemorate the sesquicentenary of Victoria in 1984-5. The Shire was located in central Victoria, established during the gold rushes. It became a shire on 22 March 1864; on 6 May 1994 Leigh became part of the newly formed Golden Plains Shire Council.

A gold-plated medal issued by the Shire of Leigh to commemorate the sesquicentenary of Victoria in 1984-5. It features a crowned shield within wreath of wheat and grape-vine, quartered with golden-fleece, plough, mining tools and cornucopiae; motto on ribbon below and the sesquicentenary logo
