Summary

White Board manufactured by Artline and used in conjunction with Main Operator Console.

This equipment was collected from the Melbourne Coastal Radio Station after it was closed in July 2002. In addition to communications equipment and documentation, items in general office use were collected in order to represent as far as possible the working environment at the time of closure.

Physical Description

Metal framed white board (portrait format) with two keyhole plates on the top of frame for hanging. Along the bottom of the frame is a metal lip for possible storage of marker pens and other related miscellanea. Taped to the top of the whiteboard is a wooden block which has attached to its front face a label marked 'VIM Melbourne Radio'. Two screws pass through two counterbored holes in the front face of the block and were probably used to attach the block to a wall above the whiteboard. The rear face of the block has been recessed in two places to accommodate the keyplates on the frame. Taped to the top of the wooden block are two wooden buttons which would have been fitted into the counterbores to conceal the screw heads.
