Summary

Metal foot pedal used in conjunction with Main Operator Console, no known manufacturer.

This equipment was collected from the Melbourne Coastal Radio Station after it was closed in July 2002. In addition to communications equipment and documentation, items in general office use were collected in order to represent as far as possible the working environment at the time of closure.

Physical Description

The foot pedal is irregular in shape with a rectangular box shaped main body and a horseshoe shape moulding at the front. In the centre of the horseshoe (where the foot would fit) is the actual pedal that can be depressed. There are two small black wheels on the underside of the object, located at either end of the horseshoe shaped moulding. The main box/ body of the object has a removable base panel to enable access to the internal working but it is screwed shut. The electric cord runs from the rear of the box and is still connected to one of the ports in the console.
