The inscription on the plaque reads: 'The Overseas Telecommunications Commission (Australia) Melbourne Coastal Radio Station Cape Schanck officially opened by the Postmaster-General the Hon. White the original coastal radio station was established in the Melbourne domain in February, 1912.'
