Summary
The Taltarni Vineyards instigated an award for services to Australian wine industry and commissioned the artist Ronald Searle to design the prize medal. This example of the medal, dated 1983, was presented to the Museum both as a medal related to the wine industry and as an example of late twentieth century medallic art.
Physical Description
Round gold metal medal depicting Bacchus holding a bottle in one hand and a bunch of grapes in the other while riding a kangaroo on the obverse. On the reverse is a inscribed drawing of a bunch of grapes. With square shaped dark blue leather case and small black and white leaflet written in French.
