Summary
White cotton dress, probably Irish, early 1870s. Brought to Australia by Georgina Maude Logan (nee Copeland) - known as Maude - in 1894.
Physical Description
This lightweight girl's dress, with ¾ length lace trimmed sleeves, is slightly gathered at the waist. At the centre of the bodice is a v-shaped insert of vertical pintucking which is flanked on either side by embroidery and additional pintucking. The skirt has been embroidered 2/3 of the way down its front, and the hem has been trimmed with lace. Down the back of the dress, from the neck to the waist, there is an opening lined with one plastic and five pearl shell buttons.
