General Description
Above: brown with yellow spots and wing base. Below: light grey with yellow spots as above to forewing and small brown dots or rings to hindwing. Wingspan up to 4 cm.
Biology
The Yellow Sedge-skipper life-cycle takes 12 months to complete. Draining of swamp land has caused a decline in suitable habitat for this butterfly and one of the subspecies in Victoria is threatened. The butterflies are present from September to early autumn.
Distribution
Eastern South Australia and western Victoria.
Habitat
Marsh or swamp areas with Chaffy Saw-sedge grass.
