General Description
Above: dark brown with white spots and orange-brown to the base of wings. Below: orange-brown with forewing spots as above and hindwing with an arc of small dots. Wingspan up to 4 cm. Caterpillars pink with a brown head.
Biology
Bright Sedge-skipper butterflies emerge mid summer and fly through to spring. They feed on soft grasses and make cocoons (pupal stage) under the cover of the grass.
Distribution
South-eastern mainland Australia.
Habitat
Open eucalypt forests and woodland areas.
