General Description
Small warbler with tubby build, short tail, and short stubby bill. Back and upper parts olive or yellow-olive; cream to yellow below. Pale line above the eye. Tail with a dark band and pale tip. Length 8.5 cm; wingspan 15 cm.
Biology
Active and noisy, feeds in outer foliage of trees. Inquisitive and will feed close to people. Short, direct and swift flights between trees. Call remarkably loud for such a small bird.
Distribution
Across Australia.
Habitat
Diverse wooded habitats, especially those dominated by eucalypts. Widespread in all climates, localised to watercourses in arid zones.
