General Description
A medium-sized dark brown slug with a distinct ridge (keel) down its back from the tail to the back edge of the raised area behind its head (mantle). The keel is more obvious when the slug is contracted. Dark horseshoe pattern on mantle. 5 cm long.
Biology
This common and widespread invasive species originates in the western Mediterranean area and can be a garden and crop pest.
Distribution
South-eastern Australia.
Habitat
Gardens, pasture and nurseries, under logs and rubbish, usually in very damp areas.
