General Description
Colony of individual polyps (hydranths) joined by root-like network of tubular stolons at the base. Colony shape is tree-like or bushy (arborescent). Colour: flesh-coloured, sometimes with a tinge of pale green, gonothecae (reproductive structures) cream. Up to 20 cm high.
Biology
Colonies of this species live for several seasons and are fertile in summer and autumn.

Indian Ocean and southern Pacific Ocean (Australia and New Zealand)
Habitat
Subtidal, on hard substrates, algae and benthic fauna in areas of strong current.
