General Description
A small skink with a long body, widely spaced limbs (all with five digits) and a pointed snout. Tiny ear openings. Brown with dark and pale flecks on scales, a dark narrow line running along its side. Back may be speckled and iridescent. Belly a light colour, cream to orange-yellow. Snout to base of tail length up to 5 cm.
Biology
A small diurnal (active during the day) lizard that basks in patches of sunlight. It forages in leaf litter and around rocks and logs, eating small invertebrates. It lays eggs.
Distribution
Southern and eastern Victoria and south-eastern New South Wales.
Habitat
Wet sclerophyll forest and temperate rainforests. Found mostly in moist gullies or damp areas under rocks, logs or leaf litter.
