General Description
Flat, circular ring, wider at the base and rising to a thin ridge. Sand grains embedded in the jelly. Up to 12 cm across (diameter).
Biology
This is one of a few collar shape egg masses from Victorian marine snails. The eggs from another similar species are laid in a similar shape mass, but have 1.5-2 turns (as opposed to one) and a wavy bottom edge.
Distribution
Southern Australia, including Victorian waters.
Habitat
Muddy sand flats.
