General Description
Olive-green variegated shell above with 4 costal shields on either side, whitish below. Distal half of forelimb almost entirely covered with enlarged scales. Up to 1.4 m long.
Biology
Carnivorous when young but adults almost entirely herbivorous. Lays about 100 round, parchment shelled eggs per nests.
Distribution
Tropical coasts of Australia and Great Barrier Reef. Pan-tropical distribution throughout the world
Habitat
Nest, forage and migrate across tropical coasts of northern Australia and Great Barrier Reef, although individuals stray into temperate waters.
