General Description
Body one of two patterns: light brown with white underparts, or dark brown with light brown underparts. Wings with a wide white "m" marking underneath when in flight. Tail with square tip. Legs covered by feathers. Body up to 55 cm long.
Biology
Little Eagles feed on live prey, mainly rodents and small rabbits, but sometimes reptiles and large insects.
Distribution
Mainland Australia.
Habitat
Open forest, woodlands and croplands.
