General Description
Upper body, tail and head brown-grey; underparts red-brown with narrow white stripes. Legs thick and yellow, tail rounded at tip. Young birds have dark brown underparts with white streaks. Body up to 50 cm long.
Biology
Female Brown Goshawks usually have a lower-pitched call than the males. Males are smaller than females.
Distribution
Mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Woodlands and forests, also in towns.
