General Description
Upper body brown, brown or cream underneath. Black stripe on face. Narrow pointed wings. Body up to 52 cm long.
Biology
Brown Falcons hunt for their prey by flying overhead and pouncing, occasionally hovering before they attack. They mainly eat small rodents and insects.
Distribution
Mainland Australia and Tasmania.
Habitat
Open grasslands, pastures and farmland.
